Konstanin Pilipenko from Vladivostok told us about his club in «We are rugby» project just few days before his first rugby tournament.

Your profession? — a carpenter
Your club? — «Manchur», Vladivostok, Russia
When did you start to play rugby? — In 2014.
What is the highest level you’ve been played? — I’m beginner.
What is your position? — № 2
How did you get into current club? — I am one of the first member of our club. I had known the friends of my girlfriend was going to play rugby, so I connected them and here we go!
Why do you play rugby? — One day I decided that I wanted to play a team sport. I wanted to know what it felt — to be the part of the team. One day I turned on the TV during a rugby match with russian commentary. And commentator was explaning the rules during the match. I was obsessed and watched the first half standing on the kitchen because at first I was very tempted to turn the TV off. I moved to the living room with big TV during the break. It was 2009, if I’m not mistaken. I’ve been hooked on rugby ever since.
About the club
How many members do you have in your club? — We have 10 regular players and also up to 20 players who sometimes attend our training sessions.
Who is the usual member of your club? — 20-35. Students or middle class workers.
How often do you have training sessions in the club? — 3 times a week, the season doesn’t matter.
What kind of facilities do you use for training session? — Still don’t have permanent base. We use few fields depends on our possiblities and necessity. Usualy we use semi-abandoned stadium in the center of the city.
What tournaments do your club participate in? — at this moment we have zero tournaments on our account.
How do you promote your club — Participating in local events. Through the internet. But word of mouth is the most productive.
What do you use to keep in touch with other players? — We commenicate by using russian social net VK.com
What are your club’s financial sources? — We haven’t found sponsors yet. So we added own funds into the club’s cashbox.
What transport do you use to reach the place of the matches? — own cars.
Do you have a coach? — Кirill Bezzubtsev from Lipetsk. A rugby player from college team of «Slava» club.
How far is your nearest opponent? — In the neighbor city (100 km). Hope there will be one more team in our city in the near future.

Hi there I am from New Zealand but currently living in Australia, I am coming to Vladivostok from 10 September to 24 September.
