After talking with Alexandros A. Kesidis and Vaggelis Fountoukos I discover that greek rugby club Kavala Titans looks like a twin for my own «Amur tigers» club. Both clubs began their activity almost in the same way the year after we founded our team and I must say they has reached success in developing rugby in their city!

Why do you play rugby? — I play rugby because it is a TEAM sport which combines physical contact, agility and strategy
About the club
When and how was your club founded? — It was founded on 2009 by a group of friends, who liked watching the games and wanted to introduce it in the town.
How many members do you have in your club? — 15-20
Who is the usual member of your club? — 20-30, students, factory workers, military, police and high school kids
How often do you have training sessions in the club? — 2 or 3 times per week
What kind of facilities do you use for training session? — Football pitch
What tournaments do your club participate in? — We participate on XV, XIII, 7s, 9s, 10s and beach rugby.
How do you promote your club — Through Beach Rugby tournaments, an inflated terren which is placed in town’s main square and filled with sand and school seminars.
What do you use to keep in touch with other players? — We use a closed group in facebook to announce news about training sessions and coming matches
What are your club’s financial sources? — During home tournaments we have sponsors, but the main financial source is from players who wants to support the team. We don’t have membership, the players are free to pay or not to pay.
What transport do you use to reach the place of the matches? — When the matches are far we use a mini-van or a train, otherwise we use cars.
Do you have a coach? — The coaching is assigned to the player who has the greatest experience. Because of our professions and not all of us are located in the same town, the training timetables does not match for everyone, that’s why we have many coaches.
How far is your nearest opponent? — The nearest rival team is 150km away
