J.M.B.: 2 years ago
P.O.C.R.: April 2014, 2 years ago.
A.A.: Last Year

5. What is the highest level you’ve been played?

J.M.B.: international 10’s where we played against small clubs of france,hong kong,taipei,PNG,and other national teams
P.O.C.R.: International Level
A.A.: National Games

6. What is your position?

J.M.B.: Lock/Loosehead
P.O.C.R.: hooker
A.A.: wing/center wing

7. How did you get into current club?

J.M.B.: One of my former teammates in American football invited me to play since american football is not really known in the Philippines, rugby just started up in the philippines with the national team the volcanoes and was getting publicity on tv.
P.O.C.R.: A friend invited me to join.
A.A.: The club held a rugby clinic in our university and I was invited to join their team.

8. How many members do you have in your club?

J.M.B.: Roughly 20-25
P.O.C.R.: For the Senior Team it would be around more than 30 people but 45% to 50% are only active. For the U18 team there’s too many of them to count hahaha!
A.A.: about 133 members

9. Who is the usual member of your club?

J.M.B.: 20-25 Student
P.O.C.R.: It would range around 18 to 30+ years old but mostly are students below 22 or 23 years old.
A.A.: 20 yr old students

10. How often do you have training sessions in the club? 

J.M.B.: Usually once a week (Sundays), if we have time or before tournaments 3 times a week but mostly self training
P.O.C.R.: We used to practice 3 to 4 times a week but due to a busy school and work schedule it’s down to once or twice a week.
A.A.: About once or twice a week. 4 times during break.

11. What kind of facilities do you use for training session? 

J.M.B.: Private/public Fields, indoor gyms
P.O.C.R.: We rent football fields (session based trainings) but it depends on the volume of players the will attend the training and the availability of the field, fields: Crocodile Park Football Field, Tionko Soccer Field or also publicaly known as Agro Soccer Field, these are privately owned fields by a certain organization or company. We can also have it in schools: Ateneo de Davao Sports Complex, Matina and Davao City National High School but we need to get approval from the school administrator first. If it’s only a small amount of players it can be on public parks that has a certain amount of space good for doing plays and basic fundamentals like Davao People’s and Royal Vall Bangkal Park.
A.A.: We borrow or rent a public field.

12. What tournaments do your club participate in?

J.M.B.: 7’s and 10’s
P.O.C.R.: International Tournaments like Fat Boy 10s and Cebu 10s and National Tournaments like the Philipine National Games.
A.A.: Fat boy 10’s, Philippine National Games, Cebu 10’s

13. How do you promote your club to get new players?

J.M.B.: Word of mouth, Social media, Government support
P.O.C.R.: We promote through social media, like facebook cause most people here in Davao are into facebook.
A.A.: We keep on inviting new recruits to join us in our training sessions.

14. What do you use to keep in touch with other players?

J.M.B.: Facebook, text messaging, cloud, google apps
P.O.C.R.: Facebook grin emoticon and contacting them through there personal numbers.
A.A.: We us facebook.

15. What are your club’s financial sources?

J.M.B.: Sponsors, Government support, Out of pocket
P.O.C.R.: I think the biggest supporter that we currently have is DHL and for National Tournaments would be the City Government of Davao.
A.A.: sponsors and money from our own pocket

16. What transport do you use to reach the place of the matches?

J.M.B.: Airplanes and buses
P.O.C.R.: Through Plane and Bus/Shuttle
A.A.: we travel by airplane.

17. What kind of coach do you have (qualification, nationality)

J.M.B.: Filipino, former Philippine valcanoe player, next in line as head of development in the philippines
P.O.C.R.: For me we have the best coaches in the country and that is coach Rose and Beekey. In terms of qualification: *National Team Player *Certified Coach in certain rugby programs and trainings. *Has coached in the developmental level (kids level) *Has finished College education (in my own view) *Passion and love for the game is the most important Nationality: Any nationality would do. For me laguage is never a wall to communicate. Players and coaches should learn to understand each other at a limitless level.
A.A.: we have 2 Filipino female coaches who used to be in our country’s national team.

18. How far is your nearest rival team

J.M.B.: Not sure which is closer,its either Cagayan De Oro or Cebu. Cagayan De Oro which is 260.2 km away then cebu at 539.3 km
P.O.C.R.: 5 to 8 hour bus drive, I think. I forgot hahaha. The Cagayan Rafters. Oh! I just wanna face them right now!
A.A.: They are in another Island group
